Fairy Guests

June 21, 2009

Claire-fairy is coming over today to eat candy and buttered popcorn and Steph-cookies and watch movies inside on the couch while it rains outside (if the weather will make up its mind that is.)

The Gingerbread House

June 17, 2009

I walk past the Gingerbread House every day on the way home from school. I have to go the long way around, take Watercress Road instead of Hayne Street with all the other girls. I like that though, walking on my own, and besides I can’t help it, I am in love.

I’m afraid of heights

June 9, 2009

I’m afraid of heights, and nobody knew. They took me in, when I came to the door, scared and cold and hungry as the pack of wolves which had been following me since noon. A little figure carved of ice, I must have looked, but they took me in and let me sit by the [...]

Ballet Shoes

Pauline, Posy and Petrova (right-to-left)

The Fossil sisters lived in the Cromwell Road. At that end of it which is furthest away from the Brompton Road, and yet sufficiently near it to be taken to look at the dolls’ houses in the Victoria and Albert every wet day, and if not too wet expected to “save [...]
