Jardin Secret
October 12, 2009
Come into the garden, Maud,
For the black bat, night, has flown,
Come into the garden, Maud,
I am here at the gate alone ;
And the woodbine spices are wafted abroad,
And the musk of the rose is blown.

In her garden she grows gloves for foxes and snow stars for the winter queen and spanish bluebells for faery sleighs in the neatest rows you’ve seen.
Beneath the Erlking’s bower, the golden dream fish play, she feeds them bread and gooseberries, sings to them every day. If wishes were fishes, if fishes were wishes, her mother used to say.

What a couple of beautiful pictures you’ve posted!
Now I want to take some too ^-^.
I love the pictures! The perspectives you used are fantastic! I enjoy playing around with my digital camera and find I can be very creative with photography! Did you take these photographs yourself?
Yes I did, thank you.
Ahh, you warmed my heart in this rainy day. <3 I really missed your posts :)
I hope you had a nice day ^^
Absolutely beautiful.
Simply beautiful
Oh such wonderful pictures, I adore them x
I adore it!
Where’s that poem from? or did you write it yourself?
The first verse is by Alfred Lord Tennyson, it is from Maud; A Monologue. The rest is by me.
these pictures are so beautiful.
what a lovely update, it is such a gloomy day here and this has really brightened my spirits.
<3

Beautiful . . . * smile *
Foxgloves are my favourite ♥ You take lovely photographs..
Very dreamy, I like how you worked the Tennyson in with your photos and your own writing – it has a lovely effect.
Beautiful~ Hello fishies :P
Beautiful photographs, I wish I had a talent for photographing like you do. I also live in Perth, where is this place? It is wonderful and I haven’t seen a place resembling this. Or is it just your back yard. I would be very jealous if it was.
Gorgeous photographs! I think I’d like to be a photographer someday and your photos really inspire me. I love the soft dreamy feel of them.
I was very happy to see a new post today! Thanks.
Have a nice day (or night)!

Beautiful!!! I love your posts!! The pictures are so beautiful too!! Are those like floweres from your garden, or some where around where you live? They are gorgeous! ^__^ I’m sad Fall is here, because all my flowers in my garden are looking sickly now. :(
The words are gorgeous. Both your own and Tennyson’s. :D They and the pictures make me wish I had a secret garden of my own.
Such beautiful pictures, they go with the poem marvelously, which, might I add, is inspiring. But of course you must already know that!
It so wonderful to see your beautiful photography once again! I especially love the two with the fish, though they’re all wonderful. Are the fish gold fish or koi? I often get them confused. Any how, beautiful, as always. :)
I just found your previous princess blog by accident looking through some 18th century designs and then I was led me to to the lost princess. I love your posts and photographs and your writing style is beautiful. So congrats on the somewhat new blog (I’m a bit late) and thanks for all your posts, I really enjoy reading them. :)
These pictures are so gorgeous! They have an almost… magical feel to them :) Amazing.
And the words are just so beautiful…
This secret garden of yours is wonderful, it wouldn’t surprise me to see some faery’s frolicking around!
So wonderful !!
Long time lurker here.. :D
These pictures are just absolutely beautiful. What kind of camera do you use? Just out of curiosity.
:D
Thank you :) I have a Nikon d90.
[...] I have always loved this poem and now the Lost Princess has featured it in a photo-adventure! [...]
I love the poem! It’s so dramatic!
The poem reminds me of my Musk body cream, it smells wonderful, like a forest in the winter, and it is a little bit of everyday heaven, just like this garden
