She has style. Of course I love Lavender too and we can’t forget Miss Honey (except if I was her I would have stayed in the pretty little cottage with the honeysuckle.)

I’m sorry I have been away so long. Work has been swallowing up my hours like a tigershark. I miss taking photos, but I am still writing. I’m writing a story about a boy, I hope I will finish this one.

It is four sleeps until my birthday.

I loved the book and I adored the movie :) I actually saw it for the first time in ages just last week with my younger siblings. Needless to say, it is now one of our favorites.

I would also like to say that I actually found this blog through your Princess Portal website which I discovered not long ago. Your a talented writer and I can’t wait to read more of your lovely blog.

    Love, Lilly :)

  23. Desiree says:

It’s nice to hear from you again.
This movie is a childhood favorite of mine as well. She is such an inspiring little girl, and I loved Miss Honey as well. I always dreamt of becoming a young lady like her (since I am in the process of working towards getting my teaching degree)

  24. Ryan says:

Hmm, very coincidental, I was just rereading this book on my holiday for the hundredth time and ruminating on how it’s easily one of my favourite books ever, a gorgeously written fable about a powerful heroine slaying a terrifying dragon using intelligence to save the ones she loves. Don’t you think Roald Dahl perfectly, realistically captures both the magic and the fear of being a child?

    Also, Happy Birthday!

  25. Lady Irwen says:

She is my heroine, too <3 Also Mafalda and Wednesday (from Addam’s family).

  26. sara says:

this was one of my absolute favorite favorite movies as a child, i still love it dearly!
the part when she makes the pancakes at the beginning was always my favorite :)

  27. Sara Louise says:

I love this movie, too! It has my most favorite song it the world in it; “Littly Bitty Pretty One”. I love how inspiring and empowering it is.
Oh! And I wish you a very happy (early) birthday, your Highness!

  28. Sora-smiles says:

By the way have a joyful birthday!!! Where I live it’s 8 today!!

  29. Karin says:

Oh, I loved that movie when I was a kid.

  30. I am another one who does not know that movie. I do hope you work in a lovely job that is not too draining and Happy Birthday. I hope it was wonderful and filled with enchantment for you. xx

Matilda is one of the most incredible people in the world. I wish, wish, wish she was real, and my best friend. One of my all-time movie favorites (a small category that includes The Pricess Bride, A Little Princess, Amelie, and Stardust).

  36. Kate says:

    I loved this movie so much as a child! (And the book as well!) Makes me so nostalgic. *__*;

  37. Nic says:

Oh, how I loved that movie, and how I loved the book! Matilda was my hero also. <3

(Miss Honey’s cottage was the prettiest, wasn’t it?!)

  38. Elphie says:

i love the picture of her plaiting her friends hair, it reminds me of how good a friend she is…
but i do think that they should have stared in the little cottage, i prefer it to the big house
