The city of Ember is the only light in the dark world. Beyond Ember, the darkness goes on in all directions.
Both the girl and the boy were making urgent wishes. Doon’s wish was very specific. He repeated it over and over again, his lips moving slightly, as if he could make it come true by saying it a thousand times. Lina was making her wish in pictures rather than in words. This film makes me imagine what it would be like to live in a world where the stars are just lamps strung across the sky.
I’ve never seen this movie but the screencaps look very intriguing! Almost steampunk. ^^
It’s post-apocalyptic, so there are similarities.
Oh, I want to watch this movie, but I do not meet it in Brazil.

It is based on a book by Jeanne DuPrau. Both versions are wonderful.
I’d heard about this movie but hadn’t seen any stills… it looks amazing! O_O I’ll have to track it down and watch it!
It was really enjoyable, I reccomend it.
I love this film! There was a lot of criticism of it for sort of ending kind of…abruptly…as in they could have done more with the whole “escape” bits…but I just love it for the visuals. It’s so dreamy and surreal and yet dark and evil. :3
